7th GRADE TECHNOLOGY- (STEM) Science, Technology, Engineering, Math
In this class students will be exposed to the impact technology has had and will have on their future and problem solving skills in small project construction. This will be accomplished through activities and related projects by students in the areas of construction, manufacturing, communication and energy-power-transportation. Activities include making paper structures, building rockets, rubber band powered airplanes, truss bridges, mousetrap powered cars, a research paper, and more. Projects are evaluated on planning and design, craftsmanship, and performance and testing of the project.
Most projects are individually done and some in groups. Performance testing and learning from others. The emphasis of this class is on problem solving individually and in groups.
