    Middle School Principal

Welcome to the Okanogan Middle School Principal's page.

It is my honor to be the principal of Okanogan Middle School.   My philosophy of education is simple.  I believe all children can excel.  The key is forming positive relationships with students and taking the learning to their level and building from that point.  The trick is tapping into their strongest learning modality and not giving up until you find it.  The challenge is making learning meaningful by forming connections to their lives and experiences.  The joy is convincing them they are deserving of love and respect, and capable of achieving anything they believe they can achieve.  The reward is being part of this wondrous process.

I am passionate about education, and I look forward to partnering with you to provide our students with a rigorous, engaging, and high-quality middle school experience. As the parent of three successful adult children, I recognize the importance of a strong home to school connection. Parents are every child’s first teacher, and I believe that by working together, we can make sure your child’s needs are met.

I believe great schools are the result of great teachers, so my primary objective will be to ensure every student is receiving high-quality instruction from every teacher at OKMS. In order to do this, I will be providing teachers with feedback on their instruction, helping to access professional development, and reaching out to parents for support with academic and behavioral concerns to ensure our students are prepared for moving to the next level. I believe it is very important our school provides relevant, engaging learning experiences in order to build the critical thinking, literacy, collaboration, communication, and creative skills our kids will need for success in the 21st century.

As the school leader, I have dedicated myself to improving the educational experiences of my staff and students. I am constantly working to build a successful school community. Through collaboration, hard work, and determination, I am certain my school, staff, and students will succeed.

My objective is to obtain the resources necessary to meet the needs of widely diverse students to be successful in a rapidly changing future.  I pledge to empower teachers to make the best possible difference for every student, every day.  I look forward to working as a team with parents, students, teachers, staff, and the community to give our children the exemplary education necessary for success.

I will be working closely with our administration and the Okanogan Middle School staff to guarantee all of our students are intellectually challenged and have access to the supports critical to students during the middle school years. Please look for ways to get involved in your child’s education to ensure we create a home to school partnership.
