Okanogan Middle School applied for a school improvement grant from the Office of Superintendent for Public Instruction. This is a three year grant to change the culture of middle school and curriculum. This change brings the school more in line with state assessment and the learning needs of middle school students. The grant provides for a paid facilitator, staff development, funds for committee work, workshops, and supplies. The end result of this will be a significant rise in the student scores on the state assessment and meeting Annual yearly progress (AYP) for the Federal NCLB act.

The team chose the logo of a person reaching for the stars to signify Students and Teachers Acheiving Results - the Middle School committment to excellence in education.
