Spelling Words
Each week our spelling words come from the current story we
are reading in our reading book. We have 10 – 12 words that review the phonics skill
of the week plus two challenge words. The spelling words will come home on
Friday with a “Spelling Contract” and the test will be the following
Friday.
Spelling Contract
The “Spelling Contract” is used to help your child study the spelling words for the week. It is as follows:
To an adult friend or family member:
Please recite each word to me one at a time. I will spell each word to you
out loud. If I make a mistake, I will take the list and study some more.
After practicing, please sign your name on the bottom line. I
will cut off the signed portion and return it to Miss Richards for a drawing
at the end of the week.
After practicing the Spelling words sign off on the appropriate day, cut it off, and return it to school.
